When Nails Inc launched in South Africa earlier this year, they were kind enough to send me a parcel with some of their products to try out. I fell in love with their nail products – there are so many of their products that I like…just like this forest green nail polish that I blogged about a while ago. Included in the gift box was their leather effect nail polish along with some nail art bling – I blogged about it here. The leather effect nail polish turn matte once it dries and has an interesting texture to it – it’s the first of its kind in South Africa.
I talked about creating a DIY matte nail polish using normal nail polish mixed with baby powder, but here is a great nail polish that you can buy at Edgars and Red Square stores that are quick drying and has an interesting texture to it.
When you apply the nail polish it is glossy and shiny for a few minutes before it turns matte. The nail polish is quick drying and quite durable which is important as you can’t add a top coat or you will end up with a glossy effect.
The final result, the nail polish is dry and I really like the matte look. It’s perfect for autumn and winter and matte nail polish is right on trend this winter.
Here is a close up of my mani, it’s not easy to see the texture of the nail polish on photos but it’s got a rough, grainy feel to it. If you want to try something different, try the Nails Inc leather effect nail polish – they have them in different colours too but I like this dark purple colour. If you have questions feel free to ask me in the comments. Let me know if you’ve used the leather effect nail polish before – what did you think of it? Chat soon! 🙂
