A new home

So, this is the exciting news which I have been DYING to share…we bought a house! It’s been a loooong process, mainly because I’m a South African running my own business (which is based in South Africa) and we’ve only been in Namibia for about a year. So our credit record is not that great. It’s been a frustrating process with many hoops to jump through, but in the end it was all worth it. The sale is in progress and we’re waiting for the transfer to take place – hopefully everything will be finalised in the next few weeks.

In the meantime we’ve moved in and that’s one of the reasons why I’ve been quiet on the blog and social media. Moving is SUCH a mission – seriously. We moved from Otjiwarongo to Tsumeb and now we’re even further away from Cape Town. Tsumeb is about 180km north east of Otjiwarongo and close to Etosha’s eastern entrance, we’re about 1200km from the Noordoewer / South African border. We definitely won’t be driving to Cape Town any time soon 🙂

moving

We’re 70% moved in – we’re moving little by little as there is time. Pieter is also busy fixing up the house in Otjiwarongo before the new tenants move in, so we have some time to get our stuff out of that house.

I really, really, REALLY love this house! Those of you that follow me on Snapchat (add me – my handle is carlavanstaden) have already seen a sneak peek. The house is spacious with a big yard and it’s definitely a family home. I can see myself living here for the next 20 or 30 years 🙂

I have so many DIY projects planned and you’ll see some of them here on the blog – so keep an eye out. I’m busy preparing for our upcoming trip to Cape Town which I’m SUPER excited about. Connect with me on Snapchat – I’ll definitely be sharing videos and photos during our time there!
