Zuri asked me to partner with them to celebrate Women’s Day in a very unique way. They picked four iconic women and asked four bloggers to recreate looks based on these iconic women’s different styles. I was given Audrey Hepburn, and wow – what big shoes to fill! Audrey was not only a fashion icon and a well-loved movie star (think Breakfast at Tiffany’s!) – she also had a big heart. She is considered one of the most naturally beautiful women of all time plus she has a place in the International Best Dressed List Hall of Fame.
Zuri asked me to pick out items from their current range to recreate a look that I think would suit Audrey, and as the ladies at Zuri in Canal Walk will tell you…it took me a long time to make up my mind! From the photos that I saw of Audrey, she always wore elegant, classic pieces but she was also daring when it came to accessories – I saw some photos of her wearing big hats and chunky necklaces. I (eventually) decided on the four pieces that I thought would suit Audrey and together with Bianca we came up with these looks.
My favourite piece from this shoot is definitely the geometric gold and silver necklace in the photo above. It’s something completely different that adds a touch of edge to an outfit without being overwhelming. Very Audrey-like if you ask me 🙂
I have an ever-growing watch collection and this faux gold watch is a nice piece to add some bling to a dull outfit – like this all-black outfit I’m wearing in the photos. I paired the watch with four bangles in different colours. The watch itself is very plain and chic, something that I think would suit Audrey’s taste.
Thirdly, this necklace adds a touch of femininity with its pink detail. I paired it with this gorgeous fluffy cropped jersey from Mr Price and while this is not something that I’d wear every day – it’s perfect for a special occasion. I can picture Audrey wearing a similar top with her pixie style hair that she sported in her younger days. Perfection! The rings in the picture below is absolutely adorable. If you follow me on Instagram you’ll know that I have a bit of a midi rings obsession (‘halwe ringe’ as my husband calls them), so it was only natural that one of my picks at Zuri had to be midi rings.
What do you think of these looks? Let me know in the comments – I’d love to hear your thoughts. Bianca and I had so much fun taking these photos – the light in the parking lot where we took the photos was just amazing!
