It’s not often that I get excited about a press release, so when the news about Skip’s Fashion Exchange events landed in my inbox I just had to share it with you. Do you have clothes that you don’t wear anymore, and now they just take up space in your wardrobe? I’m sure I’m not the only one with this problem… What if you could exchange those unwanted items for something ‘unwanted’ (but great!) in someone else’s wardrobe?
In the UK these fashion exchange events are huge. The concept behind an exchange event is that each attendee brings unwanted items (still in great condition!) and trade these items with other attendees who has something to offer that they want. We all love to receive compliments on how we look, a simple ‘I love what you’re wearing’ can make anyone’s day! These events provide a fun and cost-effective way to update your wardrobe.
The Fashion Exchange events have been taking place since 2012 and this year Skip is planning three of these events in Johannesburg. Skip understands that while clothes do not define a woman, it does help her present herself to the world in a way she wants to be seen. If you have an important meeting, you’ll dress the part. Going out for drinks and some dancing with your girlfriends? Then a sexy dress and heels are in order. We all get bored with the clothes we have in our wardrobe, and attending a Skip Fashion Exchange event is a great way to update your wardrobe!
Do you like the idea of Skip’s Fashion Exchange events? If you’re in Johannesburg, you can attend any of these events:
- 17 July 2014 at Urban Tree
- 21 August 2014 at Katy’s Palace
- 30 October 2014 at Turbine Hall
**Unfortunately the events are currently only taking place in Johannesburg, let’s hope they come to Cape Town soon!
Tickets for the Fashion Exchange event are priced at R280 each and you’ll not only walk out with new items for your wardrobe, but you’ll also be treated to a three course meal and drinks while being entertained by award-winning local talent. On top of it all there will be on-site stylists to help you mix and match the best items for your new, updated wardrobe. Sounds like fun to me!
