Tomorrow is my birthday, and I’ve decided to spend my last day as a 26 year old doing ‘fun’ things. Unfortunately most of my friends have to work during the day so I’m going to treat myself to a bit of a solo shopping spree, a nice lunch on the beach front and then a pamper session before my birthday party. My parents are also visiting this weekend and this year will be the first time in seven years that I get to spend my birthday with them. How exciting? I’m looking forward to being spoiled rotten (hint hint ;))
Earlier this week I said to someone that my 26th year was truly my best year of my life (so far). I got married, my business is doing well, we have great friends and family, I’m healthy and I finally feel like I have a balance between my work and personal life. There are a few things I’d still like to change, but I’m no longer working 14 hour days and stressing about not getting everything done. I’m in the very fortunate position where I can be picky with the projects I take on, and this has resulted that I only work on projects that I really want to. This has definitely influenced my personal life too – now that I have my work life more under control I have time for myself.
Looking back on my life over the last year I can honestly say that I’m super contend with where I’m now and the direction my life is going. May life year #27 be even better than #26 – and here’s to many more 🙂
