I was invited by Madré from Jean baré in Cape Town to come visit her at her salon in Durbanville. Up until then, I haven’t heard about the Jean baré brand. Before my facial I had a chat with Madré and she mentioned that up until recently Jean baré products were found exclusively in beauty salons. Now the products are available not only as a professional range, but also in a home care range.
Jean baré was found by Dr. Christiaan Herbst and it started out as products to treat albinism and skin cancer in Namibia in the early 1970’s. Since then the Jean baré range has evolved and is known today for its innovative formulations using natural ingredients.
Before your facial or treatment the therapist will do a skin analysis. You also complete a questionnaire to help the therapist better understand your lifestyle. Jean baré has a skin care plan for every type of skin and their products target the dermal layer of the skin to improve the overall condition and appearance of the skin.
Jean baré has a product for every skin condition – from sensitivity, to acne and ageing to name a few. If you’d like to get in touch with Madré to set up a skin analysis and facial, drop her an email.
I have one skin analysis and facial session to give away, all you have to do is follow this link to go to the StyleDiary Facebook fan page and comment on this easy question:
In which country was the early-on Jean baré products used to treat albinism and skin cancer?
Leave your answer as a comment on the question on the Facebook page. The winner will be announced on Monday, 12 August 2013. Good luck!
