The last couple of days I’ve been doing a ‘ten days of fab hair’ challenge thingy – nothing formal, just ten days of great hair styles. I have long, layered hair and it’s so easy to just wear my hair in a ponytail or bun – so I wanted to show my readers ten easy hairstyles for long (or medium) hair that you can try yourself to mix things up.
Easy DIY hairstyles for long hair
Day one I sported side braids (on both sides) with a low braided bun. The braids on the side and the rolled up braided bun makes this hairstyle seem very detailed but it’s actually super easy.
Day two’s hairstyle was a high, chunky sock bun – perfect for the dance class I had that morning
On day three I had some client meetings, so I wanted to do curls but the rainy weather in Cape Town is not kind to my hair. Not even 30 minutes after curling my hair all the curls were gone so I opted for a sleek ponytail with side braids again.
As you can see, I love my side braids 😉 On this day I did side braids again but ended off with a low, messy bun.
Another one of my favourite hairstyles – and an easy ‘cheat’ if you can’t do side braids – twisted rolls with chic bun. I blogged about this hairstyle here – take a look for step by step instructions.
I will do another post with my other five easy DIY hairstyles early next week once I’m done with the challenge – but tell me, what do you think of these hairstyles? Do you have any easy DIY hairstyles for long hair you’d like to share? I’m always keen to try out new styles. Chat to me in the comments 🙂
