A two-toned manicure

I quite like this manicure, I’ve been wearing it for about 4 days now and it goes with pretty much every outfit.

The nice thing about the two tones is that it seems like your manicure has a gradient (i.e. go from light to dark) – especially if you use two colours that are very similar. To create the look I applied the dark blue nail polish as the first layer and let it dry properly. I then used cellotape to create the lines and paint the rest of the nail bed with a deep red. The mix of the blue and red nail polish made the section with the red nail polish come out as a dark brown / black. Once both layers of nail polish were dry, I removed the cellotape and applied Sally Hansen’s hard as nails top coat. Tada! 🙂 If you like nail art but you don’t have a steady hand (like me) then this is an easy DIY nail art technique to try at home.
