I’ve been growing out my hair (from a pixie style) for more than two years now and even though it’s just below my shoulder at the moment, I want long luscious locks for our engagement party in a couple of weeks. My hair stylist showed me her hair extensions a while ago and since then I’ve been toying with the idea to get my own clip in hair extensions. I reckoned the engagement party was a good enough excuse to splurge 😉
My 20″ human remy hair clip on extensionsI decided to go with 20″ extensions and chose a dark brown very similar to my own hair colour. I took the extensions with me to my next hair appointment and my stylist clipped them in, and layered them into my own hair. After the hair appointment I coloured my own hair and the extensions to a darker brown. My hair absorbed more of the permanent colour but after a few washes it was the exact same colour as the extensions.
The clips on the extensionsI was worried that the extensions might slip out, but these clips are very secure. From the few times that I’ve worn my extensions, I don’t think they’ll be able to unclip in any way while you’re out and about.
When I was deciding what type of extensions to get I was worried about how much hair I should buy. The ones I eventually bought was 100g and as you can see it’s more than enough hair!
One packet of clip in hair extensions is more than enoughIf you’ve ever wanted gorgeous Kim Kardashian hair – hair extensions is the answer. I got my clip in human hair extensions from Afro Hair Design in Cape Town for R1 800.00. I’d recommend that you take them to your hair stylist so that she can cut them according to your hair’s style, but keep in mind that only a razor can be used to trim the hair extensions.
